It is built specifically so that it can't. Deletion is a separate, explicit step from scanning, and every single path is re-checked against the safety engine at the moment of execution — even if the interface already filtered it.

Windows, system, boot and recovery locations, your personal libraries, and credential files (.ssh, .env, keys, certificates, databases) are refused outright. So is anything on your own exclusion list.

Reading, and nothing else. A scan never deletes, moves or modifies a file. It builds a picture of your drive so you can decide what to do next.

The Recycle Bin (Trash on macOS) by default, so anything you change your mind about is recoverable. A permanent delete is available, but you have to choose it deliberately in the confirmation dialog.

No. Every developer-cleanup candidate is confirmed by a live project-marker check — DriveXos verifies that the folder really is build output of a real project before it will even list it. A random folder named build is never flagged.

Never. The Docker analyzer reclaims space through Docker's own prune command, with volumes opt-in and warned. The WSL analyzer is strictly read-only — it will not delete a virtual disk, it shows you safe compaction guidance instead.

No. The app is fully local and offline, with no telemetry and no analytics. The only network request it ever makes is licence validation, and only if you have a Premium licence.

What you type into a form, plus Google Analytics for page visits — totals and trends, never individuals. Only the page path is reported, never the query string or the part of a link after the #, so your licence key and payment reference never reach Google; the licence page is not measured at all, and a Do Not Track browser is not counted. Windows 10 (1809) and Windows 11 on 64-bit, and macOS 12 Monterey or later on both Apple silicon (M1 and newer) and Intel Macs — laptop or desktop. Grab the right build from the download page.

Two tools are Windows-only: Windows Cleanup, which becomes a macOS cleanup of app caches, logs, temporary files and the Trash on a Mac, and the WSL analyzer.

Not to start. Some system locations require elevation to scan or clean, and DriveXos asks only at the moment it actually needs it.

Yes. DriveXos detects whether each drive is an SSD or HDD and shows it on the dashboard. It performs no defragmentation and no write-heavy "optimisation" — it removes files you chose, and that is all.

Your licence activates per machine. Deactivate from the Premium page on one machine to release the seat, then activate on the other. For a genuine multi-machine or team licence, get in touch.

It is not damaged, and the download is not corrupt. macOS shows that message for any application downloaded from the web that is not signed with a paid Apple Developer ID. Gatekeeper has not examined the app at all — it is refusing on paperwork.

Drag DriveXos into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app normally:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DriveXos.app

It removes the “downloaded from the internet” flag from that one app, asks for no password, and is needed once. The same instructions ship inside the disk image as READ ME FIRST.txt, and the SHA-256 of every build is published on the download page if you want to check the file first.

In India, pay in rupees through Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking or wallets). Everywhere else, pay in US dollars through PayPal — your PayPal balance or any international card. Either way the payment details are entered inside the provider’s own window and never reach this website. You receive a licence key by email once the payment is confirmed.

No. You buy it once and it stays active. There is no renewal date, no grace period and nothing that will quietly switch the features off later.

No. Validation is deliberately lenient about outages — a paying customer stays Premium through a network failure. Only an explicit "invalid" response, meaning a revoked or refunded licence, downgrades you.
